YUCCA VALLEY WOMAN BRANDISHES A GUN

A Yucca Valley woman is behind bars after brandishing a gun on Thanksgiving. According to a Sheriff’s report, someone called 911 and immediately hung up about 12:13 p.m. Thursday. Deputies responded to the 7600 block of Warren Vista where they saw Tara Landers, 43, holding a silver-colored revolver in her right hand as she ran across the street. Deputies yelled at Landers to drop the weapon, but she refused, and ran into the desert east of her home, where she hid behind some rocks, tucking the gun underneath herself. Deputies continued to order Landers to drop the gun, until she finally threw it off to the side. Landers was then taken into custody without further incident. Tara Landers was arrested for investigation of brandishing a weapon in the presence of a peace officer, booked in to the West Valley Detention Center, with her bail set at $25,000.
