VEHICLE FIRE AT TWENTYNINE PALMS GAS STATION MONDAY

A vehicle had to be towed away after it caught on fire at a gas station in Twentynine Palms Monday morning. According to Fire Captain Matt Helmkamp, a vehicle was having mechanical problems about 10:30 a.m., and the driver pulled into the rear of the FasTrip gas station in the 4900 block of Adobe Road. The vehicle then caught on fire. Helmkamp said neither the gas pumps nor the building were threatened by the fire and there were no injuries, but the vehicle was totaled by the fire.
