SECOND SUSPECT, FATHER OF 5-YEAR-OLD, ARRESTED IN YUCCA VALLEY CHILD ABUSE CASE

A second suspect has been arrested in a Yucca Valley child abuse investigation. According to the Sheriff’s Department, Christopher Reed, 27, was arrested Tuesday afternoon, accused of felony child abuse and neglect in the case of his 5-year-old son. On Sunday, May 18, Yucca Valley paramedics and Sheriff’s deputies were called to a home in the 8600 block of Palomar Avenue after Hannah Thompson, 21, called 911 and said her boyfriend’s five-year-old son had fallen off a kitchen stool and injured his head. The boy had suffered severe head injuries and was airlifted to Loma Linda University Children’s Hospital where he was in a coma. Law enforcement and medical personnel believed the injuries to be consistent with child abuse, and Hannah Thompson was placed under arrest May 22, with her bail set at $500,000. Her boyfriend, the father of the boy, Christopher Reed, was arrested Tuesday, June 10, for investigation of child abuse and neglect. Both suspects are being held at the Central Detention; Christopher Reed’s bail is set at $100,000.

Hello Serenity! I am Noah’s Aunt. I’m not sure if you ever got any more information regarding Noah. I just wanted to go back and check the news report for my niece, who is the mother of our precious Noah. I hope you see this information. Noah was in the hospital for 6 months. He was in a coma, and had many set backs. My niece got full custody and finally after Noah was stable, was able to return to New York where all of their family live. He is now living with my niece and her family and needs around the clock care. Noah is progressing every day. Soon his schooling and therapy will be starting and he will even progress further. Mentally, Noah is all there. He is a bright, sweet, funny, loving little guy. We hope soon he will be able to walk and talk again. We have no doubt that this will happen. We are a family of great faith. We trust that our Lord will continue to heal Noah every day, not only physically, but emotionally as well. As Christians, we must forgive Hannah and Chris as our Lord forgave us. We must pray for their souls. God will take care of them. Noah’s voice will be heard one day!! Children are precious gifts from God. Thank you so much for caring to know what happened to our Noah. God Bless!!

How is Noah doing now that he is back home? Laura’s MIL (and Noah’s grandma), attends our church and I have been praying for Noah’s continued recovery.
