HALLOWEEN TRICK OR TREAT SAFETY TIPS
Halloween is tomorrow and Z107.7 wants it to be a fun and safe celebration for the entire family. Reporter Mike Lipsitz has these Halloween trick or treat safety tips…
If you have youngsters going out to trick-or-treat on Halloween this Wednesday night, make it a safe and joyous time to remember by considering the following: Halloween parties are safer than trick-or-treating. Daytime is the safest time to go trick-or-treating. Stay in your neighborhood and visit only people you know. Only go to those houses where the lights are on. Never walk the streets alone. Travel in a group, or when possible, have a parent go along. Young children should always be with an adult. Plan your route and share it with your family. Never go inside a house to accept treats. Never approach strangers in automobiles. Take extra care crossing the street, especially from between parked cars. And most importantly, an adult should check all wrapped AND unwrapped candy before you eat it. Z107.7 News wishes you and yours a safe Halloween.

TWENTYNINE PALMS PLANNING COMMISSION IN STUDY SESSION TONIGHT
An eighth study session on the City's Development code is the only item on the agenda of the Twentynine Palms Planning Commission tonight. Reporter Dan Stork relates what they're trying to accomplish…
The Twentynine Palms Planning Commission is having a special meeting on Tuesday October 30. The meeting will be given over entirely to a study session on its ongoing re-vamp of the City's Development code. The principal innovation in the re-write is the format of land use tables. The new idea is that, for every type of commercial activity that might be established in the city, the land use tables will contain a list of all the conditions and requirements that that sort of business will have to meet. That way (it is anticipated), city staff can evaluate business applications in the great majority of cases, eliminating the need for the often-lengthy public hearing process to play out, and making it easier to get businesses up and running. The meeting starts at 6 p.m. in City Hall on Adobe Road.
