Due to a significant amount of rainfall this year, the area behind the dam is now filled with water. This raises the chance of seeing Bighorn sheep, desert tortoise and migratory birds returning for a good drink. Along the way, watch for the large and fragrant Juniper, Pinyon Pine and Joshua Trees scattered along the trail as well as Native American rock art on a large boulder.
