JOSHUA TREE WOMAN ARRESTED FOR SPOUSE ABUSE
A Joshua Tree Woman was arrested after deputies responded to a 9-1-1 hang up call. Sheriffs’ officials said Thursday morning around 9:30, deputies were dispatched to the 61500 block of Sunburst Avenue. After investigating, deputies arrested Josefa Rosales on suspicion of felony spouse abuse. Deputies reported that Rosales had hit the victim in the face several times, causing deep scratches. Josefa Rosales was booked into the Morongo Basin Jail and held on $50,000 bail.

LA CONTENTA MIDDLE SCHOOL VISITATION DAY
La Contenta Middle School invites all parents to visit the school for the first monthly Parent Visitation Day, Wednesday March 3. Parents may come for all for part of the day. Parents may also stay for lunch. The school’s hours are 7:15 to 1:50. Seventh grade lunch is at 10:30, Eighth grade at 11:30. When visiting, all parents need to check in that the office and get a visitor’s pass.

EXPLORE TWENTYNINE PALMS
Here is a chance to experience the rich history and diverse sites throughout Twentynine Palms. Reporter Tami Roleff has this on the "Explore Twentynine Palms" tours...
Do you know where to see an awesome collection of purple glass? A collection of mining relics and historical artifacts from the city’s homestead days? Where’s the Oasis of Mara? Just how many murals are there in the City? The 29 Palms Chamber of Commerce has partnered with the City to showcase some of these attractions. "Explore 29 Palms" is a uniquely localized visitor’s experience which will highlight the rich mining and ranching history and the arts of Twentynine Palms. Participants will meet at the Chamber of Commerce office in Twentynine Palms, then visit the Old Schoolhouse Museum, the 29 Palms Art Gallery, have lunch at the Twentynine Palms Inn, and then tour the City’s murals. The tour begins at 11 a.m. sharp on Saturdays. Reservations must be made in advance. The cost of Explore Twentynine Palms is $17.50 which includes the transportation, guides, admission to the museum and gallery, lunch, tax, and tip. HIGH DESERT PONY LEAGUE REGISTRATION
The High Desert Pony League is still accepting baseball and softball registrations. All youths, ages 4 to 19, are invited to register for the upcoming season. The registration fee is $50 which includes a hat, jersey, pants, belt, socks, and trophy. Registration is available pony29palms.com. Sign-ups and participant evaluations will be taking place on Saturday, March 6 at Luckie Park. Youths ages 4 to 8 years old will be evaluated from 9:00 -12:00, and youths ages 9 to 19 will be evaluated from 12:00 to 3:00. All regular season games will be played at Luckie Park.
