ARREST IN MORONGO VALLEY FOR SELLING METH
A routine pedestrian check lead to the arrest of a Morongo Valley man for suspicion of selling methamphetamine. Sheriffs’ officials said Thursday night around 10, Deputy Michael Abel, making a routine pedestrian check at Senlis and Jumpier Avenue in Morongo Valley, stopped Shawn Lucero, 28, after he displayed signs of being under the influence of a controlled substance. During the stop, Lucero dropped a glass pipe on the ground, prompting Able to conduct a search. Able found a large amount of small plastic bags in Lucero’s Ipod case. Searching further, Abel found a small metal box full of power that tested positive for Methamphetamine. Shawn Lucero was arrested for suspicion of selling Methamphetamine, booked into the West Valley Detention Center and placed on a no bail parole hold.
