JOSHUA BASIN WATER DISTRICT SENDS LANDSCAPE ORDINANCE TO THE COUNTY FOR APPROVAL
The Joshua Basin Water District board sent a Landscaping Ordinance off to the county during their regular meeting last night. Reporter Mike Lipsitz was there and files this report...
At last night’s regular board meeting of the Joshua Basin Water District directors authorized staff to petition the County to amend a proposed landscape ordinance taking into account the unique and drier high desert areas of the County. In other business, Board President Mickey Luckman appointed directors Bill Long and Mike Reynolds to an ad hoc committee to look at developing a position on extending the Mojave Water Agency Morongo Pipeline agreement capacity provisions beyond 2022. Also last night, directors tabled a vote on authorization of a rate and fee study until the February 16th board meeting. Last completed in 2007, such periodic studies help the District to more accurately determine and meet future financial needs. State law requires such a study before approval of any rate changes. And in wrapping up last night’s meeting, General Manager Joe Guzzetta reviewed the District’s Project Priority List. Following those actions and approval of routine items on the Consent Agenda the board adjourned to closed session to meet with legal counsel. For Z107.7 News, this is assignment reporter Mike Lipsitz.
