NEWLYWED ARRESTED FOR FELONY SPOUSAL ABUSE

A Twentynine Palms man who’s been married for just a week was arrested Saturday, accused of fighting with his new wife. According to a Sheriff’s report, Guy Evans, 43, of the 74700 block of Sunset Drive, and his wife, were arguing most of the day over their marriage. The woman told deputies that about 8 p.m., she walked away from Evans, and when she did, he pushed her in the back, causing her to fall to the ground, and giving her lacerations to her hands and knees. After an investigation, Guy Evans was arrested on suspicion of felony spouse abuse, booked at the Morongo Basin Jail, and released about 4 a.m. on $50,000 bail.
