MORONGO VALLEY MAC MEETS TONIGHT: LAND USE, LANDERS WATER ON THE TABLE

Land Use Services processes and management of a County water area head the agenda at the Morongo Basin MAC meeting on March 10, after elimination of a previously-announced workshop. Reporter Dan Stork tells what else to expect…
The Morongo Basin Municipal Advisory Council meeting on Monday March 10 features two action items. One will be on recommendations for improving how Land Use Services notifies the public on renewable energy projects. The other is a Resolution in support of a citizen’s request that county-run water services in the Landers area be taken over by the Bighorn-Desert View Water Agency, and will follow a presentation by Big Horn Desert View General Manager Marina West. That’s in addition to regular reports from the Sheriff’s Department, California Highway Patrol, the San Bernardino County Fire Department, committees, and MAC members. A previously announced closed session for training for MAC members on the California public meeting law—the Brown Act—has been cancelled, because the way it was publicly noticed violated the Brown Act. The meeting is scheduled for 6:30 pm in the Joshua Tree Community Center, 6171 Sunburst.
