MARIAH MUCHTAR NAMED MISS YUCCA VALLEY IN SATURDAY PAGEANT

The 47th Miss Yucca Valley Pageant was held Saturday night featuring 10 high school junior candidates. Yucca Valley High School student Mariah Muchtar was named Miss Yucca Valley 2014 and received the sash and crown from the 2013 Miss Yucca Valley Kelli King. The court will consist of 1st Princess, Maddy Nimo, 2nd Princess Hailey Lasiter, and 3rd Princess Aimee Frank. Alicia Murphy won both the Rotary Essay contest and “Miss Congeniality”.

Lasiter also won the “Miss Photogenic” title. The Miss Yucca Valley Scholarship is put on by the Yucca Valley Rotary Club and is based on an academic format with no talent or swimsuit competition. All of the funds raised from the pageant go to pageant expenses and scholarships for the contestants. The pageant is chaired by Sheldon and Tara Hough and was emceed by Z107.7’s Gary and Cindy Daigneault.
