MAN ARRESTED AFTER FILLING A HOME WITH GAS WITH CHILDREN INSIDE

A Twentynine Palms man was arrested Friday morning accused of endangering a one-year-old child. According to a Sheriff’s report, a family member found Stephen Tumlinson, 46, of the 6000 block of Chia Avenue, passed out Thursday night with the stove burners turned on to let gas fill the home. Friday morning, Tumlinson turned the stove’s gas burners on again while two family members—including a one-year-old child—were sleeping. Tumlinson was arrested for investigation of cruelty to a child, booked at the Morongo Basin Jail, with his bail set at $100,000.
