LEARN ABOUT METEORITES FOR THURSDAY LUNCH AT HI-DESERT NATURE MUSEUM

Our Morongo Basin treats us to celestial phenomena unlike any other place on earth. Reporter Taylor Thacker invites you to attend a lunchtime lecture Thursday to learn more about the meteorites that sparkle in our desert nights……

The Hi-Desert Nature Museum is kicking off their Winter Lecture Series on Thursday, January 9, at noon with a captivating lecture on meteorites and a book signing by Dr. Stephanie Slahor. Meteorites come to Earth from other reaches of our Solar System and they have been puzzling and fascinating Earthlings for centuries. In this lecture, you’ll hear facts about their origins and characteristics, but you’ll also learn some of the many interesting stories about meteors and meteorites.  Admission is free and coffee will be served.  The Winter Lecture Series is held one Thursday a month from January through March.
