JOSHUA TREE MAN ARRESTED FOR DRUGS AFTER FOOT PURSUIT

A Joshua Tree man was arrested Friday evening after deputies found bags of drugs on him. According to a Sheriff’s report, deputies were called to a residence in the 6400 block of Valley View   Street about 9 p.m. about someone living in a shed behind the home, and a stolen motorcycle parked in front. When deputies arrived, Ricky Hopewell, 52, took off running and hopped a fence, but deputies captured him after a short pursuit. During a search, deputies found methamphetamine packaged in individual bags and a large amount of cash on Hopewell. Ricky Hopewell was arrested for investigation of possession of drugs, booked into the Morongo Basin Jail, with his bail set at $50,000.
