JOSHUA TREE ARRESTS FOR DUI, DRUGS, WEAPONS, AND STOLEN CHECKS

A Joshua Tree man was arrested early Saturday morning, accused of driving under the influence with a dangerous weapon in his vehicle. According to a Sheriff’s report, Timothy Baragona, 51, was stopped near Reche Road and North Vans Ranch Boulevard in Landers on a traffic violation about 12:30 Saturday morning. The deputy determined that Baragona was driving under the influence of alcohol. During a search of the vehicle, the deputy located a billy club and a rifle. Since Baragona is a convicted felon, the weapons were seized, and Timothy Baragona was arrested on suspicion of possessing a billy club and driving under the influence. Timothy Baragona was booked at the Morongo Basin Jail with his bail set at $25,000. The district attorney’s office will review the case of being a felon in possession of a firearm.

A Joshua Tree man is behind bars, accused of breaking into his neighbor’s home. According to a Sheriff’s report, Michael Napoli, 25, of the 61900 block of Petunia Avenue, is accused of breaking into his neighbor’s home through a window and grabbing a box of check books from the home. Napoli is then accused of trying to cash a check with false identification about 3 p.m. Saturday at a bank in the 57200 block of 29 Palms Highway in Yucca Valley. After an investigation, Michael Napoli was arrested on suspicion of burglary, booked at the Morongo Basin Jail, with his bail set at $25,000.
