FIVE ARRESTED IN PUBLIC NUISANCE SWEEP

Five men were arrested Friday in Yucca Valley during an 8-hour panhandling and public nuisance sweep by the Sheriff’s Department. Arrested were Paul Garrison, 26, and Michael Flores, 23, for panhandling near Warren Vista and Highway 62. Flores was also found to be wanted on multiple felony burglary warrants. Michael Flores was booked into the Morongo Basin Jail with bail set at $250,000. George Flynn, 73, was arrested for panhandling near Vons. Gonzalo Diaz, 41, was arrested in the 57200 block of Highway 62 for panhandling. Brandon Garcia, 18, was arrested on a felony assault warrant. He was booked into the Morongo Basin Jail with his bail set at $125,000. Two adults were also issued citations for hitch-hiking.
