FBI INVESTIGATE POSSIBLE SAN BERNARDINO COUNTY SHERIFF JAIL MISCONDUCT

The FBI is investigating allegations of mistreatment of inmates at the West Valley Detention Center by members of the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department. Sheriff John McMahon has ordered an internal investigation. Wednesday, March 5, the Sheriff’s command staff received information regarding the possible misconduct and immediately launched an investigation. Department officials learned of a similar inquiry by the Federal Bureau of Investigations. At this time, according to a Sheriff’s release, the Sheriff’s Department and the FBI are in full cooperation in order to ensure a comprehensive investigation is completed. The FBI is the primary investigative agency in regard to any possible criminal charges. As of April 8, three deputies assigned to the West Valley Detention Center are no longer employed by the Sheriff’s Department. The law prohibits the release of details regarding personnel investigations and the Sheriff’s Department can not release the names of involved parties.

Why are the names being with held from the public on these officers? The names of deputies have always been with held from us and I really believe that we have a right to know who these deputies are. If a Citizen was to have done the exact same things there names and photos would be all over the news. Whether it be in the paper or radio. We have a right to know all the news.

While these alligations may be true, it is important to understand that these are not isolated incidences with-in the San Bernardino County Sheriff Department. The SBCS deputies commit violent crimes against the public on an unprecidented scale. It is in my opinion (having been on the recieving end) the standard, “business as usual” through-out the SB Sheriff Department. Regardless of whether you are looking at the conduct as an officer deployed on the streets or in one of the numerous jails manned by these deputies. Assualts, beatings, and many other violations of our constitutional rights are common place, and are the “NORM”! Not the “EXCEPTION”! Just sign me “another victim of SBCSD”
