ELECTION RESULTS UPDATED, NO SIGNIFCANT CHANGE

The Secretary of State’s office updated the election results Thursday afternoon. There are no significant changes in the results since early Wednesday morning, just small adjustments in the numbers and percentages of votes for each candidate. In local races, the top two vote getters for U.S. Congress, District 8, are Republican Paul Cook of Yucca Valley, with 58.3 percent, and Democratic challenger, Bob Conaway with 18.6 percent. For State Assembly District 42, Democrat Karalee Hargrove of Twentynine Palms will face off against Republican Chad Mayes of Yucca Valley in November, with 37.9 percent of the vote to Mayes’ 34.4 percent. John McMahon was elected Sheriff, and Michael Ramos was re-elected district attorney. The final results of the election will be released July 1.
