DRIVERS AND PASSENGERS IDENTIFIED IN MONDAY’S TWENTYNINE PALMS CRASH THAT CLOSED HWY 62

The Sheriff’s Department has identified the drivers and passengers involved in a crash Monday afternoon that shut down Highway 62 for an hour in Twentynine Palms. Thomas Ehret, of Las Vegas, Nevada, was driving a white VW Jetta northbound on Peterson Avenue, making a left turn onto westbound Highway 62 when his car was broadsided by a maroon VW Passat, driven eastbound by Tonicka Brown, 35, of Yucca Valley. Two passengers in Brown’s vehicle, Gilbert Gonzalez, 25, and April Miller, also of Yucca Valley, were transported by air to Desert Hospital in Palm Springs with broken bones. Brown’s son was in a car seat in the back seat and had no visible injuries, but was taken to Hi-Desert Medical Center as a precaution. Brown and Ehret’s unidentified passenger were taken to Hi-Desert Medical Center.
