Candidate filing is underway for the November 3, 2015, consolidated election and several local board seats are open. Two seats are open on the Morongo Valley Community Services District, and two seats are open on the Bighorn Desert View Water Agency board of directors, serving Landers and Flamingo Heights. Qualified candidates must be registered voters living in the district they aim to represent. Citizen who wish to run must obtain and file the appropriate documents. To obtain forms for the Morongo Valley CSD, call General Manager Donna Munoz at 760-363-6454. Forms for the Bighorn Desert View Water Agency are available at agency offices at 622 South Jemez Trail in Flamingo Heights, or by calling 760-364-2315. Filing closes at 5 p.m. Friday, August 7.
