6/6 Armed Services YMCA Soapbox Derby, kicking off the 29 Palms Street Fair and Car Show. Entry fee $25 per child; space is limited to 50. Deadline to sign up is April 30. Derby categories for those without prior experience: 5-8 years old Stock Division, 9-14 years old Stock Division. Categories for those with experience: 5-8 years old Super Stock Division, 9-14 years old Super Stock Division. Register on race day. Kits provided, excluding tools.
