ATTEMPTED ROBBERY OF YUCCA VALLEY TACO SHOP BY FINGERPOINT

A Los Angeles man was arrested Monday night after he attempted to rob a taco shop with his finger. Shortly after closing, at 10:12 p.m., Michael Clark, 21, walked into Algoberto’s Taco Shop in the 56100 block of 29 Palms Highway, with his face covered and his hand under his sweatshirt, pretending that his finger was a gun. Clark demanded that the two employees inside give him the money from the cash register. The store’s cook hit the silent alarm button and the cashier realized that Clark was only using his finger as a gun. The cashier grabbed Clark and the cook hit Clark with a steel bean masher. The two employees held him on the ground until deputies arrived. Michael Clark was arrested for investigation of attempted robbery, booked in the Morongo Basin Jail, with his bail set at $50,000.
