AN ARREST FOR STRONG ARMED ROBBERY IN YUCCA VALLEY

We have limited details about a Yucca Valley man who was arrested yesterday, accused of strong arm robbery. About 12:30 Tuesday afternoon, deputies were called to the Flyers Gas Station on the highway in Yucca Valley concerning a man, later identified as Robert Brooks, 38, who was drunk, harassing and fighting with customers at the gas station, and who had reportedly taken $100 worth of items from the store. When deputies arrived, Brooks allegedly fought with them as well. After Brooks was taken into custody and brought to the Morongo Basin Jail, deputies determined he was also responsible for a strong-arm robbery at the Food 4 Less store that was reported at 11:49 a.m. Robert Brooks was arrested for investigation of strong arm robbery, with his bail set at $100,000.
