AFTER A MONTH, NO EVIDENCE OF A CRIME, NO TRACE OF ERIN CORWIN

It was one month ago that pregnant Marine wife Erin Corwin of Twentynine Palms was reported missing. She told her husband, Marine Cpl. Jonathan Corwin, she was headed to Joshua Tree National Park on June 28. When she did not return, he reported her missing the next day. Sheriff’s Captain Dale Mondary told Z107.7 News it is still officially a missing persons case and they are currently looking for any sign of her or proof that a crime occurred. Sheriff’s investigators said yesterday there are “no new developments.” While the sheriff’s department reported there are “suspicious circumstances” surrounding Corwin’s disappearance, investigators also haven’t ruled out the possibility that she left on her own accord. They searched Corwin’s on-base apartment and the apartment of neighbor Christopher Lee with whom she may have been having an affair. Deputies also searched White Rock Horse Rescue Ranch in Yucca Valley, where Corwin volunteered and Lee and his wife stayed for a few days right after the disappearance. Evidence revealed shows Lee and Corwin planned to go hunting together the day she disappeared. Deputies searched Lee’s home, and arrested him July 4 on suspicion of possessing a “destructive device,” later identified as a potato gun. He was subsequently released.

This is so terrible. My sympathies are with those who know and love Erin. May she be returned to them soon.

I’m wondering what erins aledged boyfriend was supposed to be hunting in the park?

  • Sam

He should not be hunting anything there as it is illegal to hunt in the Park so he already has a criminal mentality, as apparently did Erin, as she wanted to kill there, too.

  • Are you serious? A potato gun!?

The Press-Enterprise’s report on 22-July-2014 when read in light of this Z107.7’s report of 29-July-2014.

Marine is arrested, spends the 4th of July in Jail, (likely) has to get out a loan out for bail, then gets HONORABLY DISCHARGED and its not clear if he has hired an attorney all because of a potato gun and a kiss. WTH. Is this what happens when ‘law enforcement’ can’t find any evidence!? Sound like we ARE started to need privet peace officers or hire better public defenders.

“When questioned by detectives, Lee said he had kissed Corwin but they never had sex, according to the affidavit.

Lee was arrested earlier this month on suspicion of possessing a destructive device. Lee, then a Marine corporal, was taken into custody July 4 after a search warrant was served at a home in Yucca Valley and then released on bail two days later, the Sheriff’s Department said.

A day after that, he was honorably discharged after seven years in the Marine Corps, the Desert Sun said.

Lee was arrested as part of an ongoing investigation, said sheriff’s spokeswoman Jodi Miller, who would not give more details.

It was not immediately clear whether Lee had hired an attorney, and current contact information in his name could not be found.

Several law enforcement agencies and hundreds of volunteers searched a broad swath of desert for Corwin. The search was scaled back last week and continues.”

Cristopher Gonzales, this is driving me crazy …As of now there’s no evidence that’s been released that proves Lee picked up Erin or was with her the day she went missing ..As of now Lee is still a veteran that served our country who just earned and received a HONORABLE discharge ..The bogus arrest for a potato gun just says to me that he’s a person of interest that obviously has poor morals..

The same way Erin cheated on her husband with Lee is the same way she could have cheated with other marines.

  • Sam

Rick, I ask you again if you picked up Erin.
